Proposed for January 1, 2025
MCTA has not raised fares since July, 2014, over 10 years ago, and everthing has become more expensive. Fares for adults, college students, and persons with disabilities will go up $0.25 to $0.50. Seniors over 65 will still be free. MCTA is proposing that kindergarten through 12th grade students ride free with valid school ID.
Starting January 1, 2024, riders can use their own bank-issued credit or debit card (or Apple Pay, Google Pay, Samsung Pay) or Cash App to board and pay fares. By paying with a bank card, passengers will not be charged more than a daily, 7-day, or 30-day cap.
MoGo Card readers will be removed after February 1, 2025.

Any comments received on the form will be provided to the board. On Thursday, November 21, 2024 at 5:30 PM, at MCTA the board will hold a public hearing and vote on the proposed increase.
