Children under 44" ride free with an accompanying individual.
Each pass type is consecutive days. So, the 7 Day Pass, if activated on Monday will expire the following Sunday, regardless of the number of trips used.
NEW - Limited Time
15 Trip Passes
MCTA will sell 15 trip passes on the bus for adults ($15) and disabled passengers ($7.50), and at NCC and ESU for students ($10). Transactions on the bus are cash only.
Adult and ADA passes can be purchased from the driver. Student passes can be purchased at NCC and ESU Student Services. Present it to the bus driver each time you start your journey. The bus driver will clip the card for each trip start. Transferes are included, so remember to request paper transfers between routes.
These passes will expire February 1, 2025.
MoGo Card Sunset - February 1, 2025
MCTA will be moving on to better things. Coming soon, MCTA will be accepting credit cards, Apple and Google Pay, and CashApp - right on the bus.

Cash OR Bank Card
MoGo Card readers will be going away after February 1, 2025.
Starting January 1, 2025, riders can use their own bank-issued credit or debit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Samsung Pay, or Cash App to board and pay fares.
Seniors over the age of 65, children under 44 inches, and students kindergarten through 12th grade presenting a valid student ID, ride free.

Starting January 1, 2025, there will be a new fare for the fixed route system. The last fare increase was July 2014. Along with the fare increase, MCTA will also be rolling out a new way to pay for fares. This system will permit riders to use their bank cards (including, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Samsung Pay) and the Cash App to pay for the fare. Cash fares will still be accepted. The MoGo Cards and system will be retired.

MCTA New Fare Payment System - Effective January 1, 2025
Now Accepting Credit Cards!
MCTA is moving to a convenient and flexible credit card fare payment system. Here's what this means for you:
- Pay with Ease: Use your existing bank card, smartphone, or smartwatch to pay for your fare. Simply tap your card (or device with Apple Pay, Google Pay, Samsung Pay or Cash App) on the new validators (PADs) located on the buses.
- Keep Track of YOUR Travel: MCTA does not have access to your account - only you do with your bank card / Cash App number. You can track useage usinging this link.
- Fare Capping: Enjoy automatic fare capping! Once you reach the daily, weekly, or monthly fare cap, ride for free for the remainder of the period.
- Seamless Transfers: Transfers between buses are automatically applied within the system. Just tap the same card or device on your next bus, as long as you are transferring to the next route within three hours of your first tap.
- No Credit Card Option: Download and use the Cash App on your smartphone. You can go to any Dollar General Store (as well as other retail outlets) and have the cashier add your cash to the app. Once you have funds on Cash App, board the bus, tap your device. No credit card required. Please note, there is a $1 transaction fee that the Cash App takes at the time of cash loading.

Pay by cash or credit card, debit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Samsung Pay, Cash App. Use a bank card or Cash App to get daily, 7-day, or 30-day cap value. No registration required to earn fare cap; however, passengers must use the same card every time.

Half Fare for the Disabled
Eligible disabled passengers can ride for half the price. To qualify for the discounted fare, you can:
- Pay cash and show your MCTA-provisioned card or valid Medicare card.
- Create an account on the MCTA payment system and register your bank card.

College Student Fare
College / trade school students can benefit from reduced fares by creating an account on the MCTA payment system and registering their bank card. Remember to recertify your account annually.

Free Fares
- Seniors (65+): Ride free with a valid PA Senior Transit ID card.
- K-12 Students: Ride free with valid student ID. Students over 44" tall must present ID.
Cash Payments
Cash will still be accepted on all buses. However, only payments made with bank cards or Cash App will be eligible for fare capping and automatic transfers. Use Cash App to load cash and use on the bus.
College / Trade School Students
College and trade school students must present MCTA with a current course schedule to be eligible for the reduced fare. Students must recertify annually.
Half Fare for the Disabled Registration
If you have a Medicare card or MCTA-issued Half Fare card and would like to use your bank card to pay for fares, please contact MCTA in December, 2024. If you do not have a Medicare card or MCTA-issued Half Fare card, you can apply using Find My Ride . Once you are registed, contact MCTA to have your account associated with your bank card.
